Can Anyone Tell Me Why?
Can anyone tell me why the bills we receive never match what we actually have to pay? This time, it's about the very serious municipal revenue office in Tunis. As a good citizen trying to fulfill my duty at the office's counter, with a check prepared based on the notice I received, I was informed that it didn't match what the computer said. Probably because it's not the same computer that issued the notice. The fact that I had to pay a few dinars less doesn't change the issue. A bit of precision, please.
Sara Jemaâ in the Spotlight
This young and talented jewelry creator has just been honored by the UNIDO. Her workshop, a place of transmission and training, was noticed for "reinventing Tunisian artisanal heritage through contemporary and ethical design, where the transmission of know-how and the enhancement of local materials become the driving force behind innovation". A finalist in the UNIDO Global Call, she will likely be in Bahrain next February for the final selection of winners. She deserves it.
As Well as Anouar Brahem
Our favorite oud player, Anouar Brahem, has just received the 2026 honorary prize from the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkrittik, awarded by the annual committee of this independent association. The association brings together 160 music critics and journalists from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. We offer him our best wishes and hope to see him more often on our stages.
Nacer Khemir Passes Through
After presenting his films Desert Trilogy in Jordan, Nacer Khemir took the time to stop in Tunisia, where we regret not seeing him more often. He is heading to Turkey, where a large program awaits him.
