Head of Government Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri Presides Over Ministerial Council to Examine 2026 Economic Budget Project

The Head of Government, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, chaired a ministerial council on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Government Palace in the Kasbah, dedicated to examining the 2026 economic budget project. On this occasion, the Head of Government affirmed that the economic budget project is an orientation document that enables the realization of the constitution's foundations, aiming to strengthen national sovereignty and consecrate the principles of self-reliance and social justice among different categories. The 2026 economic budget project represents a crucial step in the path of building and construction, materializing national choices in accordance with the vision of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, noted Zenzri. The axes of the 2026 economic budget have been defined to achieve a balance between social justice and economic growth, she added. The Head of Government also specified that the 2026 economic budget project reflects the state's orientations in social and economic fields. These orientations will mark the beginning of the implementation of the development plan for the 2026-2030 period and will work towards achieving comprehensive development and social justice in all regions. The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, presented a report on the 2026 economic budget project, which includes programs and measures inscribed within the following axes:

  • Reinforcing social achievements and improving living conditions
  • Ensuring decent and well-paid work and reducing unemployment
  • Access to social coverage and decent housing The second axis relates to improving public equipment services. The third axis concerns developing and renewing the transportation fleet. The fourth axis focuses on accelerating the implementation of public projects. In the social and economic fields, the Council recommended the following:
  • Strengthening the pillars of the social state through:
    • Employment and reducing unemployment
    • Combating precarious employment
    • Prohibiting subcontracting
    • Guaranteeing decent work with remunerative salaries and social protection
