Specialized Criminal Chamber for Terrorism Cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance Delays Ruling on Ennahdha's "Secret Apparatus" Case

The specialized criminal chamber for terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance decided on Friday to postpone the ruling on the so-called "secret apparatus" case of the Ennahdha movement. This decision follows a hearing held to examine the requests for release presented on behalf of the detained defendants and other formal requests, in addition to setting the date for the next hearing.

Examination of the Case

The criminal chamber for terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance began examining the case on Friday, which involves the detention of Ennahdha movement president, Rached Ghannouchi, as well as Ali Laârayedh and Fathi Baldi, a former security official, and other individuals who have been brought to justice either in a state of freedom or on the run, all on terrorist-related charges.
