African Union's Centre of Excellence for Inclusive Markets Launched in Tunisia

The African Union's Centre of Excellence for Inclusive Markets has officially launched its activities in Tunisia, serving as a continental platform dedicated to supporting African economic integration and promoting inclusive and sustainable markets in line with the continent's development goals.

According to data published by the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX), the Centre aims to develop policies, exchange experiences, and strengthen capacities that contribute to improving access to African markets, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The Centre also works to enhance innovation and cooperation between member states in the areas of trade, investment, and sustainable development.

The Centre's Executive Director, Youssef Kourdoufani, highlighted the importance of choosing Tunisia to host the institution and the central role the Centre will play in strengthening leadership and forward-looking vision in the field of business and inclusive markets. This includes identifying best practices in policies, programs, and partnerships, and facilitating their exchange and dissemination across the African continent, according to Dar Al Masdar.

The Centre also seeks to coordinate and exchange experiences between countries on the continent, support cooperation and dialogue between the public and private sectors, and strengthen knowledge sharing between decision-makers and executive bodies. This contributes to accelerating the establishment of inclusive markets, promoting fair and sustainable economic growth, and strengthening regional economic integration, in line with the objectives of the African Union and Agenda 2063, according to the official.

This new creation is considered an asset for the African continent, given the role it will play in promoting intra-African trade, qualifying the private sector, and accelerating regional integration.

The launch of the African Union's Centre of Excellence for Inclusive Markets is part of the implementation of the objectives of the African Union's Agenda 2063.
