Tunisia to Take a Major Leap in Modernizing its Administration
Tunisia is set to take a decisive step in modernizing its administration: all 24 ministries will switch to digital exchanges within two years, with the parallel deployment of a unified mobile application that groups the main administrative services. This tool will allow citizens to obtain online the national identity card, passport, vehicle sticker, or tax return using a unique identification number.
This major announcement was made by Sofiene Hemissi, Minister of Communication Technologies, during the special session "Administration of an Agile Economy", held on Thursday evening as part of the 39th edition of the Enterprise Days. Hemissi affirmed that this massive digitalization is the central pillar of the national strategy aiming to reach 80% digitization of administrative services by 2030, in order to fight corruption, streamline procedures, and improve the business climate. The minister also emphasized that this digital shift will require targeted training of human resources, a essential condition to support the transition and ensure the quality of services.
