A French national is among the victims of the attack perpetrated on Sunday by two shooters at Bondi Beach in Sydney during a gathering of the Jewish community celebrating the first day of Hanukkah, announced French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot. "It is with immense sadness that we learned that our compatriot Dan Elkayam was among the victims of the heinous terrorist attack that struck Jewish families gathered on Bondi Beach in Sydney on the first day of Hanukkah," wrote the French Foreign Minister on his X account. At least 16 people were killed and 29 injured in this attack, which Australian authorities have qualified as "terrorist".
