Under the Slogan "Together, Let's Give Light Back to Those Who Are Waiting," the Cataract Surgical Campaign Took Place on February 13 and 14, 2026, at the Regional Hospital of Tataouine.
Nadi Al Basar announced the launch of this initiative, funded by DirectAid and supervised by the Ministry of Health, with the participation of the Regional Health Directorate of Tataouine.
This action was carried out in collaboration with the Ghomrassen Association for Communication and the Tunisia El Khir Association - Tataouine. Almost 120 patients were operated on, selected from the official waiting lists of the hospital's ophthalmology department, ensuring the transparency of the process and prioritizing cases based on their medical condition. The interventions were performed as part of a partnership between the surgical team of the hospital's ophthalmology department and the doctors of Nadi Al Basar, namely Dr. Abdelmajid Bachtobji, Dr. Haykel Ennaifer, and Dr. Taha Bizani, as well as the paramedical team composed of Ezzedine Ahmed, Monia Jendoubi, and Mohamed Ali Habibi. This collaboration ensures the quality of care and continuity of medical follow-up within the hospital.
This campaign is part of a solidarity approach aimed at improving access to specialized care and giving hope and quality of life back to the beneficiary patients.
