Tragedy Strikes Family in Tunisia: Young Man Dies in Hospital After Car Accident
A young man from the governorate of Tataouine has passed away on Monday at the University Hospital of Médenine, due to severe injuries sustained in a road accident that occurred in Enfidha. This tragic event has taken place in a particularly complex context, marked by the recent deaths of his sister and mother in a case that remains unsolved.
According to Nidhal Labyadh, spokesperson for the First Instance Tribunal of Tataouine and substitute prosecutor, the family's mother had been admitted to the Regional Hospital of Tataouine after suffering injuries, before passing away.
The case was initially triggered by a report filed by a family member with the security units, alleging the presence of a deceased body at the family home. Initial investigations revealed that the mother had been injured, while the son had left the scene before the facts were discovered.
The son later became a victim of a traffic accident, requiring his transfer to a hospital in Sousse, followed by his admission to the University Hospital of Médenine, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation continues to determine the exact circumstances of this case, which has led to the disappearance of three members of the same family (the daughter, the mother, and the son) without any official conclusion being reached, particularly regarding the potential role of the deceased young man in the initial events reported.
At this stage, judicial authorities maintain the investigation open to shed light on the numerous dark areas surrounding this case.
