International Taekwondo Federation Releases Olympic and World Rankings for September
The International Taekwondo Federation has published the Olympic and world rankings for taekwondo for the month of September. This ranking saw the presence of several Tunisian champions in advanced positions, with Olympic champion Firas Kattoussi leading the ranking in the 80 kg category.
A Mixed Bag of Results
According to La Presse, these rankings are what they are. For our part, we will remember the defeats and the unglorious exits of the elements that recently participated in the Grand Tournament held in South Korea. The reasons matter little, a defeat is a defeat, and especially since the manner was not very convincing. There is undoubtedly a psychological problem that played a role. Given that the exit was negative for all the elements that participated in this tournament, precisely to position themselves in preparation for the next World Championship. This brings us back to the agitation that reigns within the federation and which seems to have had its effect. It seems to us that following these upheavals, the Tunisian champions on whom we particularly count must be kept away from them. These waves disturb, disorient, and hinder concentration. The services concerned with the elite must get closer to these elements to protect them and allow them to work seriously to regain their footing after the slap that certainly woke them up.
Reasons to be Proud
Nevertheless, the ranking of a good number of our young girls and boys on a global scale is still a subject of pride. We have future champions, provided that we return to the humility that has, until now, allowed us to progress to the point of being among the best in the world.
