Mouna Wassef Named "Ambassador of Peace in the World" by the World Organization for Human Rights

Mouna Wassef has been designated as "Ambassador of Peace in the World" by the World Organization for Human Rights. This title was awarded to her in recognition of her long artistic career and her contributions to spreading the values of peace and fraternity through Syrian and Arab theater. The ceremony took place in a festive atmosphere at the amphitheater of the University of Damascus.

A Celebration Under the Sign of Hope

The event, organized by the "Friends of Syria, Japan, and the World" foundation, had the theme "Syria, Hope". Many Syrian and Arab artists attended, as well as official personalities, including Hind Kabout, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, who expressed her great admiration for Mouna Wassef.

A highlight of the ceremony was the moving interaction between the minister and the actress. After presenting Mouna Wassef with her trophy, the minister kissed her hand and took her in her arms, amidst tears of emotion.

A Moving Speech and a New Series Project

To the applause of the audience, Mouna Wassef delivered a poignant speech in which she affirmed that her love for her profession gave her the strength to continue throughout her career. She stated: "I am the daughter of a Christian mother and a Sunni Kurdish Druze father. This diversity has made me an open person. What's important is not just to love, but to give, because the homeland is a mother... and who can hate their mother?"

In parallel with this distinction, it was officially announced that Mouna Wassef will join the cast of the series "Maulana", alongside actor Taim Hassan, for the Ramadan 2026 season. The series will also feature other stars, including Abdel Moneim Amayri and Nour Ali.
