Israeli Entity Establishes 9 Military Bases in Quneitra, Southern Syria
The Israeli entity has established 9 military bases and points in the Quneitra region, southern Syria. These positions serve as launch points for Israeli incursions and raids on civilian homes.
According to a Sky News Arabia correspondent, the Israeli entity's forces also control 5 other strategic points on Mount Hermon. The troops entered Syrian territory after the fall of the Assad regime at the end of last year.
Sky News Arabia's camera filmed the Al-Hamidiya base, established by the Israeli entity's army in the southern Quneitra countryside after the fall of the Assad regime, from the closest point. Observations on the ground indicate that this base is used to "terrorize civilians." Previously, it cleared and destroyed more than 15 civilian homes under the pretext of "ensuring protection and clear vision."
The Al-Hamidiya base is one of the 9 Israeli military bases created in the region, including:
- The Teloul Al-Hamar base, which offers a view of most of Quneitra's areas up to the borders of Daraa
- The Jabbata Al-Khashab, Al-Qurs Al-Naml, Al-Qahtaniya, Koudna, Abdin, and Ma'araba bases These bases are considered launch points for Israeli incursions into the entire region.
To the left of this area are the heights of Mount Hermon, where Israeli forces have taken control of around 5 key points at the summit. These points include former positions of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force, an observation post, and another position of the Palestine Liberation Army, as well as sites where Syrian regime forces were stationed before their fall.
The surrounding area is crossed by the "Alpha" disengagement line between the areas previously under Israeli control in the occupied Syrian Golan and the Quneitra region.
