Tunis City Municipality Carries Out Large‑Scale Inspection Campaign in El Khadhra District

The municipality of Tunis launched a sweeping night‑time control operation on Saturday in the El Khadhra municipal district, in coordination with the regional brigade of the municipal police.

The operation targeted businesses located in the northern urban centre and along the lakefront, as part of the ongoing monitoring of establishments that serve the public.

According to an official municipal statement, the campaign aims to:

  • Prevent illegal occupation of sidewalks and public thoroughfares without proper authorization.
  • Enforce hygiene standards and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Address the lack of waste‑disposal agreements for commercial premises.
  • Stop unlicensed musical events held in cafés and restaurants.

Violators have been summoned by the municipality’s licensing department to regularise their status, settle any outstanding fees, and complete the legal procedures required to obtain the necessary permits.

The operation was overseen by the head of the municipal police centre for the zone, accompanied by agents from the hygiene service and the licensing service, all acting on the public road.
