Global Fleet Ship Sumud Breaks Through Gaza Blockade
One of the ships from the Global Fleet to break the Gaza blockade, Sumud, successfully entered Gaza's territorial waters on Thursday morning, coming within 8.4 nautical miles (approximately 13 km) of the coast, according to information posted on the official Facebook page of the Maghreb Fleet Soumoud.
Activists on board the fleet also reported on social media that the ship "Mecano Al-Bira" had crossed the maritime boundaries of the sector, specifying that other ships are still holding on and continuing their navigation towards Gaza.
Meanwhile, members of the fleet's legal team confirmed that 20 ships had been intercepted, including four carrying Tunisians, and that contact had been lost with 14 other ships. They added that the arrested individuals had been gathered on board the ship "Johannesburg", en route to the port of Ashdod, where Palestinian lawyers from the 48th region are expected to follow up on their situation and provide the latest updated information.
Regarding the situation of Tunisians participating in the fleet, according to the updated data from the legal team, 16 Tunisians have been arrested so far, including:
