Tunisair Enters Summer 2026 with Strong Results and Aggressive Commercial Strategy

Tunisair, the national Tunisian airline, is entering the summer of 2026 with a solid performance and an offensive commercial strategy. Amina Ben Ammar, in charge of sales optimization at Tunisair, outlines the measures taken to respond to the strong demand from Tunisians living abroad: fleet reinforcement, reduced-price offers, and specific benefits for students and families. A supplementary device, developed in partnership with the Office of Tunisians Abroad, is currently being finalized.

Positive Start to the Year

Amina Ben Ammar presents a positive assessment of the start of the year. The airline has recorded a 9% growth in passenger transport compared to the same period last year, reflecting both an improvement in demand and a regain of confidence from customers in the quality of service. The aircraft occupancy rate has reached 76%, a gain of 1.5 points over the past year, directly contributing to improved flight profitability. The responsible person emphasizes that these two indicators combined reinforce Tunisair's competitive position and attest to its ability to consolidate its market share in the face of competition. She also notes a 9% growth in air freight activity over the same period.

A Fleet of 16 Aircraft to Absorb the Summer Peak

The sales optimization manager recalls that the summer season constitutes a major logistical challenge, given the simultaneous demand from the Tunisian diaspora and tourists wishing to visit Tunisia. To respond to this, Tunisair has established a rigorous flight schedule, with 14 aircraft in operation from June, in accordance with budgets and rotation plans established.

This setup has been reinforced by the chartering of two additional aircraft, destined for routes with high concentrations of diaspora. These aircraft will enter service in mid-June and operate until September, covering the period of return of Tunisians from abroad and the start of the school year. The total fleet will reach 16 aircraft in June and July. Amina Ben Ammar adds that a third rotation is planned between mid-August and mid-September, when the pressure of return is at its peak.

Two Pre-Purchase Offers with Discounts up to 50%

The responsible person explains that two promotional offers have been deployed, both based on the principle of advance booking. The first, launched in December 2025 for a period of eight days, allowed for a 30% discount on available tariffs for trips between June 17 and August 20, accompanied by a reduction on service fees when booking through Tunisair agencies.

The second, targeting the diaspora, was launched on January 26 and extended until March 15, covering nine markets: France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Portugal, and Canada. Individual travelers benefited from discounts reaching 40%, while families of at least three people were granted an additional 10% discount, bringing the total discount to 50%. These two offers were accompanied by concrete tariff advantages: baggage allocation in the hold increased from 23 to 32 kilograms, the cabin baggage allowance was increased, and conditions for cancellation and modification were relaxed to encourage advance booking.

Amina Ben Ammar reveals that an additional offer is currently being developed in partnership with the Office of Tunisians Abroad. This device, whose contours are still being defined, will directly affect ticket prices and not just additional benefits. An official announcement is expected soon. The sales optimization manager also recalls that the facilities for modifying reservations without penalties are already in effect, allowing travelers to change their departure date without fees or constraints.

Student Tariffs with Advantages Available All Year

The responsible person emphasizes that the Tunisair student offer is not a seasonal promotion but a permanent advantage, accessible to any student presenting themselves as such when purchasing a ticket. This benefits from an immediate 30% discount on the applicable tariff, a baggage allowance of 32 kilograms, the possibility of modifying their travel date without fees, and a refundable ticket, a set of conditions particularly adapted to the constraints and uncertainties inherent in student life.

Amina Ben Ammar confirms that families composed of at least three people are at the heart of the work being done with the Office of Tunisians Abroad. Specific tariff benefits will be granted to them, the exact modalities of which are still being finalized. An announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
