Commercial Oil Tanker Skylight Targeted Near Oman’s Sultanate
A commercial oil tanker, Skylight, sailing under the flag of the Republic of Palau, was targeted in maritime waters close to the Sultanate of Oman, approximately 5 nautical miles north of the port of Khasab in the Musandam Governorate, at the northern tip of the country.
- Location of the incident: Off the Omani coast and within the territorial proximity of the United Arab Emirates.
- Crew on board: 20 members – 15 Indians and 5 Iranians.
- Outcome: All crew members were safely evacuated. However, four sailors sustained injuries of varying severity and require medical treatment.
