Economic Control Brigades of the Regional Trade Directorate in Manouba Seize Subsidized Flour and Untraced Bananas
The Economic Control Brigades under the Regional Trade Directorate in Manouba, in coordination with the municipal police, confiscated 47 quintals of subsidized flour from a bakery located in Denden for violating the regulations governing subsidized products.
A formal report has been filed while the seized product is being re‑injected into the legal distribution channels. Administrative and criminal measures against the bakery owner are currently being finalized.
In addition, 391 kg of bananas of unknown origin were seized for breaching commercial traceability rules.
The seized bananas were sold to a large retailer in Manouba at 7 dinars per kilogram. The proceeds will be deposited with the Public Treasury pending the completion of procedures related to the possession and market placement of products whose origin cannot be justified.
Regional authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continue monitoring subsidized products, enforcing proper usage and marketing conditions, and combating speculation, conditional sales, and the diversion of subsidized goods.
