Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT) Reports Stone‑Throwing Attack on Train
The Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT) announced that one of its trains was targeted with stone‑throwing during the night service on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, on the southern suburban line Tunis–Riyadh, at the Taher Sfar station.
According to a company statement, the attack broke the windows of several carriages and caused panic among passengers.
Following the damage, the affected train was taken out of service on Wednesday to undergo the necessary repairs.
SNCFT reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining continuous public rail service despite the challenges it faces. However, the company emphasized that repeated acts of vandalism further complicate its mission, generate additional costs, and disrupt service schedules, potentially leading to the cancellation of some trips.
The company also called on citizens to act responsibly and help protect public property. It urged families to better supervise young people and minors in order to preserve railway infrastructure and ensure the regularity of service.
