Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) Extends Debt Rescheduling Measures
The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) has announced the continuation of exceptional measures for rescheduling debts of its clients, in accordance with decisions made in February 2025 with the authorization of the President of the Republic. This initiative aims to facilitate the settlement of bills while taking into account the economic and social situation of citizens and businesses.
In a statement, STEG invited clients wishing to benefit from these facilities to submit their applications from December 22, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
These measures concern three main categories:
- The first category targets clients whose monthly consumption does not exceed 400 kilowatt-hours, who will be able to benefit from a rescheduling of their previous debts in the form of monthly installments calculated based on the amount due.
- The second category concerns small businesses facing financial difficulties due to the accumulation of debts. These businesses will be able to reschedule their unpaid bills, subject to submitting a request to this effect.
- Hydraulic groups facing difficulties in settling their bills are also covered by these measures, under the same terms.
STEG emphasizes that this approach is part of its commitment to maintaining a positive and ongoing interaction with all its clients and contributing to the alleviation of financial constraints they may face.
