Tunisian Court Hands Down Verdicts in State Security Plot Case
The specialized criminal chamber for terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal delivered a final judgment on Friday, November 28, 2025, regarding the accused individuals involved in the so-called plot against state security.
According to a judicial source cited by the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) agency, the prison sentences handed down to the detainees range from 10 to 45 years, while one detainee was deemed inadmissible. For the accused who are currently free, sentences were set between 5 and 35 years, while two of them were also deemed inadmissible.
Regarding the accused who are on the run, the court confirmed the sentences pronounced in the first instance (33 years with immediate execution) and even increased some of them to 43 years, also with immediate execution.
Additionally, some accused individuals were sentenced to fines of varying amounts and the confiscation of their funds deposited in accounts opened with Tunisian financial institutions.
