Early Morning Verdict: Tunis Court Rules on "Plot Against State Security" Case
Early this morning, the specialized criminal chamber for terrorism cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal delivered a verdict in the highly publicized "plot against state security" case. The court ruled in favor of Noureddine Boutar, the President and Director General of Mosaïque radio, by issuing a dismissal of charges. Boutar had previously been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the first instance and had appealed the judgment.
The Chamber also issued a dismissal of charges in favor of Lazhar Akremi and detained defendant Hattab Ben Slama.
