Former Government Officials to Face Trial for Financial Corruption
Yesterday, the specialized chamber for examining financial corruption cases at the Court of Appeal in Tunis decided to refer the former Chief of Staff of the Minister of State Domains and Land Affairs, as well as a second official from the same office, to the criminal court specializing in financial corruption cases at the Economic and Financial Judicial Pole in the capital.
They will be tried for the charge of abuse of function by a public agent to obtain an undue advantage for themselves or others, and for causing harm to the administration, following their accusation of committing irregularities during their tenure at the Ministry of State Domains and Land Affairs.
Additionally, the chamber pronounced a dismissal of the case due to the death of three other accused individuals, including a former minister.
