Israeli Defense Minister Katz Orders Troops to Advance and Secure New Positions in Lebanon

Israel’s defence minister Yoav Katz announced on Tuesday that he has issued orders for Israeli soldiers to move forward and take control of additional strategic sites inside Lebanon. The directive comes in response to a series of rocket and missile strikes launched by Hezbollah against Israel’s northern regions.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and I have agreed that the army will advance and seize new strategic locations in Lebanon in order to prevent attacks on border communities,” Katz said in an official statement.
The move signals a significant escalation in the already tense Israel‑Lebanon frontier, where Hezbollah’s recent barrage has prompted Israeli officials to consider a broader ground operation aimed at neutralising launch points and protecting civilian populations along the border.
