Tunis Infrastructure Projects: Updates and Timelines
According to Khaled Latrach, Director General of Bridges and Roads at the Ministry of Equipment, the construction work on the southern entrance of Tunis is expected to be completed by mid-2026. In an interview given on Thursday, September 18, 2025, on National Radio, he also indicated that the highway project connecting Tunis to Jelma, in the Sidi Bouzid governorate, will be operational at the beginning of 2027. This project, with a total cost of 1,710 million dinars, is currently 30% complete. Regarding the permanent link that will connect the Tunis-Bizerte highway and the city of Bizerte, Latrach specified that it will be operational by the end of 2027.
