Sousse Municipality Introduces New Video Surveillance System in Medina
The municipality of Sousse has announced the implementation of a new video surveillance system in the medina, effective Monday, September 8, 2025. This system will cover the Bab Jebli area and the northern zone of the Ribat, with a direct connection to the operations room.
According to the municipality's secretary general, Mourad Ben Salem, four cameras will be installed in these strategic locations. These state-of-the-art equipment feature advanced functionalities, including facial recognition and statistical tracking of movements, whether of vehicles or pedestrians.
The stated objective of this project is to strengthen security, particularly in areas with high tourist traffic, and to ensure the protection of visitors to the Sousse medina.
