Positive Outlook for Sousse-El Kantaoui Tourist Zone
The Regional Commissioner for Tourism in Sousse, Mohamed Boujdaria, presented a positive report on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, during the Regional Tourism Council at the governorate headquarters. Between January 1 and November 30, 2025, the region welcomed 1,229,094 visitors, representing a 13.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
The total number of overnight stays reached 5,844,130, marking a 17.2% increase over the past year.
Leading Markets
Mr. Boujdaria confirmed that Tunisians top the list of arrivals with an 8.3% increase. They are followed by:
- The Algerian market: +37%
- The British market: +39%
- The Polish market: +3.9%
The commissioner also highlighted that the region continues to attract traditional and emerging markets. Notably, the number of Chinese tourists increased by 20.7%, with 11,626 visitors staying for a total of 16,770 nights.
A remarkable evolution was recorded in the Iranian market, with arrivals increasing by 1,000%.
Forecasts for the End of the Year
For the period from December 15 to 31, 2025, the regional commission predicts:
- The arrival of approximately 50,000 visitors (a 10-15% increase compared to the previous year)
- A total of nearly 190,000 overnight stays
Specifically for New Year's Eve, around 15,000 visitors are expected in the region's hotels, representing a 10% growth compared to the end of the previous year.
