Wael Naouar Announces Postponement of Global Solidarity Flotilla to Gaza

Wael Naouar, a member of the Global Solidarity Flotilla with Gaza committee, announced that the departure of the Resilience Flotilla from Tunisia to Gaza has been postponed by one or two days. Initially scheduled for this Thursday, the postponement is necessary to coordinate with the global flotilla coming from Spain, whose movement has been slowed down by bad weather conditions.

Coordinating Departures for a Simultaneous Movement

In a statement made on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, on the "Expresso" show, Naouar explained that the idea is to have all the flotillas depart at the same time. He specified that constant communication is maintained with the other participants to set the final date, while ensuring that the departure will take place before the end of the week.

Multiple Ports Involved and a Convoy that will Meet at Sea

Naouar indicated that the Global Resilience Flotilla to break the blockade of Gaza will depart from several major ports, including Tunisia, Spain, Italy, and Greece. The Spanish flotilla was the first to set sail due to its distance from Gaza. It was initially supposed to join the Tunisian flotilla this Thursday, but the weather conditions delayed it until September 6. On that day, it will be joined by the Italian flotilla. All the boats will then meet in the high seas.

Humanitarian Aid and International Participation

Wael Naouar emphasized that the flotilla is carrying varied humanitarian aid, mainly medicines and baby milk. The primary objective is to break the blockade imposed on Gaza and create a humanitarian corridor to provide emergency aid to the population.

The Tunisian flotilla consists of more than ten ships and over 200 participants from around the world, including 127 Tunisians, as well as parliamentarians, artists, and actors. The registration of participants was closed a week ago, and the acceptance of medical and food donations has also ceased, as the loading is complete.

Naouar highlighted the massive participation in this initiative, with over 100 nationalities and 44 representations of different peoples, which testifies to the humanitarian and solidarity dimension of this project.
