Humanitarian Flotilla Soumoud Faces Turbulent Night Near Gaza Coast

The humanitarian flotilla Soumoud experienced a tumultuous night approximately 121 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, after approaching an Israeli military vessel. This was reported by Ghassan Henchiri, a member of the flotilla's coordination committee, on Wednesday morning.

According to his statements on Diwan FM, a Zionist occupation navy ship dangerously approached the flotilla's main vessel, the "Alma" boat, causing targeted disruption to the communication systems on board. The incident required the immediate activation of the emergency protocol on all ships.

"We temporarily lost contact with the Alma boat, which strongly disrupted the coordination between flotilla members. Fortunately, the Israeli ship eventually withdrew after exerting obvious pressure," Henchiri specified.

The Soumoud flotilla is currently in a high-risk maritime area, where the risk of interception by the Israeli navy is high. The crew expects a new incident or attempt to block them at any moment.

"We know that interception can occur at any time, but our determination remains intact. We are driven by a just mission: to break the unfair blockade imposed on the people of Gaza," Henchiri affirmed.

Composed of activists, volunteers, and professionals from various countries, the Soumoud flotilla is transporting humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Gaza. If conditions permit, arrival on the Palestinian coast is expected in approximately 15 hours.

Despite the obstacles, flotilla members are showing high morale and say they are ready to face any attempt to obstruct them, affirming their willingness to convey a message of solidarity and peace to the besieged Palestinian people.
