Thiago Ávila Continues Hunger Strike
The legal team representing activist Thiago Ávila announced last night that he has decided to continue his hunger strike, following three interrogations by intelligence services due to his role as an organizer in the Soumoud flotilla movement.
According to his lawyers, Ávila has been transferred multiple times to different cells where he has been subjected to interrogation sessions. In response to this situation, he is now refusing to hydrate, even with water, until all other detainees receive the necessary medical treatment.
The activist has also made a solidarity request: to be the last person to be expelled, in support of his fellow detainees.
The defense team recalls that the responsibility for Thiago Ávila's safety and physical integrity lies fully with the competent authorities. They also call for the full respect of his human and legal rights.
