New Stadium Seating Installation to Begin in Sousse

In preparation for the upcoming sports season, the installation of approximately 35,000 new seats at the Olympic Stadium in Sousse is set to commence in the coming days. This announcement was made by Mourad Ben Salem, the municipal manager of Sousse, who stated that the equipment has been acquired in accordance with technical specifications established by a study office and safety requirements validated by the Tunisian Civil Protection services.

Structural Work and Safety Measures

In parallel, the municipality has been tasked with installing the supporting structures for the stands, a crucial step to ensure compliance and safety of the infrastructure. This move is part of a broader effort to upgrade sports facilities and provide better conditions for athletes and spectators.

Temporary Closure of Covered Hall

A decision has been made to temporarily close the covered hall due to the deteriorated state of the external stands. This measure follows a series of meetings held under the supervision of the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Governor of Sousse. The discussions resulted in an agreement to rehabilitate and modernize sports facilities with deficiencies, as part of a partnership between the Ministry and the municipality.

Renovation of Covered Hall

A study office has been commissioned to renovate the covered hall, which serves several areas in the region. The estimated cost of the work is 7 million dinars, with 65% covered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the remaining amount financed by the Sousse municipality.

Upgrade Program

This upgrade program is part of a broader initiative to improve sports equipment and ensure better conditions for athletes and spectators. The project aims to enhance the overall experience at the Olympic Stadium in Sousse.
