- The construction of eight integrated family homes
- The development of green spaces
- The creation of club rooms and a multipurpose room
Funding
So far, 5 million dinars have been collected, and additional contributions are expected from economic actors and civil society to make the site a model for childcare, according to the same source.
Social and Symbolic Significance
Labbadi highlighted the symbolic and social significance of the project, recalling that the SOS Children's Village welcomes children without family support from Siliana and other regions.
History of the Village
The Siliana Children's Village was created 44 years ago and was evacuated two years ago following a report from the civil protection concluding that its buildings were dangerously outdated. The dismantled village housed:
- 32 children
- A home for five girls
- A home for five boys
- About 40 young people
- 500 children followed in their natural families
The reconstruction of the village is a significant step towards providing a safe and supportive environment for these children.
