A Working Session Held at the Sidi Thabet Biotechnology Hub

A working session was held on Friday at the headquarters of the Sidi Thabet biotechnology hub, in the presence of the Governor of Ariana, Walid Sandid, as part of a field visit to monitor the progress of the project to create the future industrial zone of the hub.

Objective of the Session

The meeting was dedicated to evaluating the progress of the detailed development plan, as well as examining the procedures for connecting to public networks (electricity, water, sanitation, transportation). The goal is to gather the necessary technical and logistical conditions for the establishment of this zone with high economic and technological potential.

Governor's Statement

The Governor emphasized, on this occasion, the importance of combining the efforts of all stakeholders to accelerate the remaining procedures. He stressed the strategic role of this project in attracting new investments, supporting the local economic fabric, and generating sustainable employment opportunities.

Technical Visit

At the end of the session, a technical visit to the site allowed for a close examination of the existing infrastructure and planned intervention areas, including the location of the future electrical transformation station (from high to medium voltage), which will be carried out by the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas (STEG), in collaboration with the Tunis Maritime district.

Meeting with Institute Representatives

The visit was also marked by a meeting with the Director of the Higher Institute of Biotechnology of Sidi Thabet and a group of teacher-researchers. The discussions focused on the needs and development prospects of the institution, a key player in the region's scientific ecosystem.
