Incident at Sidi Hassine School: Individuals Attempt to Storm Education Council Meeting

A school in the Sidi Hassine region of the capital was the scene of an incident in which individuals attempted to burst into an education council meeting while it was in session to discuss a disciplinary case involving a student from the school. They also made verbal threats against the general supervisor and the director, according to statements confirmed by Najah Zaidi, a teacher at the school and a member of the education council.

Appearing on the "Sabah El Ward" program on Mosaïque FM (Jawhara FM), Zaidi stated that "one of the individuals who attempted to burst into the director's office claimed to be the brother of the student, and the others were unknown individuals with no connection to her." He emphasized that "the student's misconduct involved inappropriate behavior and making statements that undermined the dignity of the educational staff." Zaidi added that "the group threatened the administrative staff with physical violence, particularly the general supervisor, before the director intervened and managed to push them back until the arrival of security units."

Zaidi affirmed that "the security forces acted quickly. A judicial investigation was opened, and a number of individuals involved were arrested, in coordination with the Regional Education Delegation of Tunis 2 and the Sidi Hassine National Security District." He specified that "the session was suspended due to the gravity of the situation and the lack of suitable conditions for making decisions."

Zaidi also mentioned that "the educational staff works in difficult conditions within the school, which is experiencing unprecedented overcrowding, with around 1700 students for a capacity that does not exceed 1000 students."
