Meeting Held at Tunis Governorate Headquarters to Discuss Rehabilitation Projects
A working session was held at the headquarters of the Tunis Governorate, bringing together the regional commission responsible for monitoring the implementation of popular neighborhood rehabilitation projects (2nd generation of the rehabilitation and integration program for housing neighborhoods). This meeting was dedicated to coordinating and preparing for the launch of development works in the Trabelsi-Dridi, Ardha Hariz, 20 Mars, and 25 Juillet neighborhoods, located in the Sidi Hassine delegation, with the kickoff scheduled for December 22.
The Governor of Tunis, Imed Boukhris, who chaired the session, emphasized the crucial importance of the projects implemented by the Urban Rehabilitation and Renovation Agency (ARRU). He praised the interventions already carried out in the region in general, and more particularly in Sidi Hassine.
The Governor recalled that the upgrading of many neighborhoods and the development of their infrastructure have directly contributed to improving the living conditions of citizens. However, he insisted on the need for increased coordination between all stakeholders, particularly public concessionaires (STEG, SONEDE, etc.), to avoid any delays in the execution of works related to public networks.
The meeting also discussed the situation of the Birine 1 and Birine 2 neighborhoods. On this subject, the Governor recommended mobilizing additional funds to include these areas in future ARRU interventions.
The Tunis Governorate, ARRU, and the Sidi Hassine municipality jointly contributed to unlocking an additional envelope of 500,000 dinars to cover the needs of the mentioned neighborhoods.
