Two Schools in Sidi Bouzid Targeted by Arson and Vandalism
Two schools in Sidi Bouzid were targeted by acts of arson and vandalism at the beginning of the week, according to Fathi Saghrouni, Secretary General of the Basic Education Union of Sidi Bouzid West.
In a statement to Jawhara FM radio, Saghrouni indicated that Taieb Mhiri school was broken into on October 28, 2025. A cabinet in room number 5 was set on fire, and another was the subject of an attempted arson, causing a short circuit and a power outage throughout the establishment.
All concerned parties visited the site to assess the damage, but the perpetrators of these acts have not yet been identified.
The union leader added that a similar incident occurred the day before, on October 27, at the Avenue de la République school. Following these events, two guards were assigned to the two establishments, and necessary repairs were carried out.
