The National Guard General Directorate informs the public that, contrary to what is circulating on certain social media pages regarding an alleged "attack" on one of the ships docked at the port of Sidi Bou Said, coming from Spain and belonging to the "Soumoud" fleet, these reports are completely unfounded.
According to initial findings, the origin of the fire is linked to the combustion of a life jacket on board the ship in question, caused by the flame of a lighter or a cigarette butt. No hostile act or external attack is reported. The National Guard General Directorate reaffirms its commitment to providing citizens with accurate information and calls on them to refer to official sources and avoid being swayed by rumors.
