Shooting at Mormon Church in Michigan
Several people were injured on Sunday during a shooting at a Mormon church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where a fire also broke out, according to local police. Images shared on social media show smoke escaping from the building, while firefighters work to control the flames and numerous emergency vehicles are deployed on the scene. "The shooter has been neutralized. There are several victims, but no ongoing threat to the public," the Grand Blanc Police Department stated on Facebook, urging residents to avoid the area. The targeted church is the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints", commonly known as the Mormon Church. Grand Blanc is a small town of 7,700 inhabitants, located about 100 kilometers northwest of Detroit.
