Tunisian Athlete Marwa Bouzayani Sets New National Record in 3,000m Steeplechase

Marwa Bouzayani, a talented Tunisian athlete, achieved a remarkable feat on Saturday by setting a new national record in the 3,000m steeplechase event at the Shanghai Qiqiao Diamond League meeting in China.

Bouzayani successfully broke the 9-minute barrier in the 3,000m steeplechase, surpassing her own national record. She secured the third position in the race with a time of 8 minutes 58 seconds 09, during the opening leg of the Diamond League athletics meetings in Shanghai Qiqiao, China.

It's worth noting that Marwa Bouzayani was absent from the African Athletics Championships (Accra 2026) due to her commitments in the Diamond League, which includes two meetings scheduled for May 16 and 23 in the Chinese cities of Shanghai and Xiamen.
