Individual Taxi Drivers in Sfax Protest Against Preliminary License Allocation

Several individual taxi drivers in Sfax have decided to submit a letter of complaint to the Presidency of the Republic and deposit it directly at the Carthage Palace in the capital today. They are demanding fairness regarding the preliminary list of taxi license allocations published in the region a few months ago, according to Abdallah Youssfi, the representative of the protesting taxi drivers.

Youssfi stated to "Diwan FM" that this move comes after protest movements that did not receive a favorable response from the regional authorities. He emphasized that several names on the preliminary list do not deserve to obtain a license, in his estimation.

Key Demands

  • The taxi drivers are seeking an investigation into the allocation of licenses.
  • They want to ensure that the distribution of licenses is fair and transparent.
  • Youssfi has requested a security and social investigation into the quota of licenses to be distributed, according to the same source.
