The first women's marathon organized in Thyna, Sfax, was a huge success, attracting 332 participants from different age groups, according to the organizers. The event took place on May 1st, 2026.

Initiated by the Sfax Regional Delegation of Youth and Sports, in partnership with the Thyna Delegation, Municipality, and the Tunisian National Union of Women, this event aims to promote sports among women and young girls, under the slogan "Sports are a Right for All."

The marathon brought together students from primary, secondary, and high school levels, as well as members of sports and civil associations, and local civil society representatives. This diversity of profiles highlights the growing enthusiasm for women's sports in the region.
