Special Cleaning Campaign Launched in the City to Ensure a Healthy Environment
A working group convened at the municipal palace has validated a special and intensive cleaning program to ensure a healthy environment and prevent the accumulation of waste in the city's different districts, particularly in densely populated neighborhoods and markets.
To address the exceptional volume of waste during this period, municipal services have completely reorganized waste collection rotations. Teams will begin collecting waste from 8:00 PM on the eve of Aïd, while the first day of festivities will see collection starting at 3:00 PM, and the second day at 5:00 AM. Normal working hours will resume on the third day.
This year, the municipality is focusing on circular economy and resource valorization. Over 20 strategic sites across the city have been identified to install special containers for collecting animal hides. Enhanced human and logistical resources will be deployed to ensure the success of this waste recovery campaign.
Municipal Abattoir: Free Veterinary Inspection from 7:00 AM
In terms of sanitary security, the municipal abattoir will undergo a rigorous cleaning and disinfection operation beforehand. It will open its doors to citizens on the day of Aïd from 7:00 AM. A municipal veterinarian will be present to inspect animal carcasses free of charge and ensure the cleanliness of sacrifices.
The success of this exceptional plan relies heavily on the cooperation of residents. Local authorities solemnly call on citizens to sort their waste: animal hides must be deposited in special containers marked with a distinctive sign, while other household waste must be disposed of in sealed bags. A simple gesture, the authorities remind us, is essential for preserving public health and facilitating the work of sanitation agents on the ground.
