Commemoration of the 9th Anniversary of Engineer Mohamed Zouari's Assassination

The regional section of the Tunisian Order of Engineers in Sfax commemorated, yesterday, Sunday, on Bab Diwan Square in the center of Sfax, the ninth anniversary of the assassination of engineer Mohamed Zouari, in collaboration with several associations and organizations in the region.

Sana Smaoui, Secretary-General of the regional section of the Tunisian Order of Engineers in Sfax, stated to the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) agency that "the commemoration of the martyrdom of engineer Mohamed Zouari, which the Order has been organizing regularly since his assassination in 2016, aims to perpetuate the scientific legacy of the martyr and to instill in young people the principle that the Palestinian cause does not fade with time." She emphasized that "it is now imperative to make the new generation aware of the great engineering legacy left by martyr Mohamed Zouari in the manufacture of aircraft, particularly in the context of the digital world and its technological evolution."

She concluded by stating that "the role of the National Order of Tunisian Engineers is to highlight and preserve scientific value, to emphasize the engineer's footprint in the development of the engineering sector, and to find solutions to the Palestinian cause."

The program for commemorating the ninth anniversary of martyr Mohamed Zouari's death alternated between cultural and technological dimensions. It included workshops for manufacturing aircraft for children, in collaboration with the Southern Aviation Club, and others aimed at introducing the martyr and his scientific legacy in the field of aeronautical engineering, the Southern Aviation Club, and the Palestinian heritage. The program also included a virtual aerial modeling competition using simulation technology, highlighting Palestinian heritage, as well as a documentary photo exhibition.

It is worth noting that the martyr, engineer Mohamed Zouari, who was assassinated by the hands of Zionist treason by the Mossad in front of his home in the governorate of Sfax on December 15, 2016, was a Tunisian engineer born in Sfax. He was a member of the Ezzeddine al-Qassam Brigades, the military branch of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas), and supervised the project for developing and manufacturing drones within the al-Qassam Brigades' manufacturing unit, dubbed Ababil 1.
