Tunisian Society of Clinical Sexology (STSC) Condemns Sexual Assault on a Child in a School
The Tunisian Society of Clinical Sexology (STSC) has expressed its deep indignation and strong condemnation following the sexual assault of a child in a school, recalling that any violation of a child's integrity is a serious infringement of their fundamental rights.
In a statement published on Sunday, the society indicated that, in the face of this tragedy, prevention cannot be limited to reaction, but must be part of a comprehensive educational strategy, stating that "the prevention of sexual violence must be considered a public health priority, where age-appropriate sex education represents a fundamental lever for protecting children."
This prevention model, based on knowledge and respect for the body, the concept of consent, the expression of limits, and the ability to ask for help from a young age, is the most effective bulwark against abuse, the STSC also stated.
The Tunisian Society of Clinical Sexology reaffirms its unwavering societal and scientific commitment to a prevention plan and undertakes to promote positive sex education in educational institutions, convinced that knowledge of certain values and benchmarks constitutes the most solid shields for guaranteeing the integrity and safety of each child.
