Preparations for the 23rd Session of the Tunisian-Algerian Joint Commission
Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, accompanied by Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, chaired a meeting of the Preparatory Follow-up Committee for the Joint Commission on December 11, 2025, in Tunis. The meeting was attended by representatives from various ministries and structures involved in cooperation between the two countries.
Bilateral Meeting
On this occasion, the two ministers held a bilateral meeting during which they emphasized the depth of the authentic and long-standing fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries, as well as the willingness of the leaders of the two states to strengthen bilateral relations to meet the aspirations of the two peoples for security, stability, and development.
Follow-up Committee Meeting
The Follow-up Committee meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of preparations for the 23rd session of the Tunisian-Algerian Joint Commission, which will be held in Tunis on December 12, 2025, under the presidency of Ms. Sarra Zaafrani Zenzeri, Head of the Tunisian Government, and Mr. Saïfi Ghrib, Prime Minister of the Algerian Government. The meeting also allowed for an evaluation of the progress of various cooperation files, exploration of new perspectives for Tunisian-Algerian partnership in priority sectors for the two countries, and an update of the legal framework governing cooperation relations in various fields.
Coordination and Concertation
The two ministers stressed the importance of Tunisian-Algerian coordination and consultation at all levels regarding various regional and international developments.
Conclusion
At the end of their work, the two ministers agreed to submit the conclusions of the Follow-up Committee meeting to the Joint Commission.
