Saudi Arabia's Museum Commission Inaugurates the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday that the Museum Commission of Saudi Arabia has inaugurated the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah.
The museum features over 1,000 archaeological and artistic pieces distributed across 23 exhibition halls, organized around seven main themes, according to the SPA. The collection includes navigation instruments, Chinese ceramics, manuscripts, rare photographs, as well as contemporary works by Saudi and international artists.
The museum is located in the historic Bab Al-Bunt building, in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Historic District of Jeddah. The building was restored as part of the Quality of Life Program of Saudi Vision 2030, in compliance with current sustainability standards for heritage structures.
According to authorities, this project will enhance cultural infrastructure, support sustainable urban development, preserve the architectural character of Bab Al-Bunt, and revive its historical role as a gateway to the region.
