Director of Commercial Maritime Ports, Samia Ben Jbiri, announced that the revision of studies and the issuance of tenders for the Enfidha deep‑water port project are slated to be completed by the end of 2026.
This key milestone will enable the launch of the first construction phase of the country’s major new port infrastructure.
Employment Impact
In an interview granted on Friday, 27 February 2026 to Radio Nationale, Ben Jbiri specified that the port is expected to generate around 52,000 direct and indirect jobs, underscoring its significance for both the local and national economies.
Scope of the First Phase
The project will define the length and surface area of the berths, which are essential parameters for the initial construction works.
A preliminary implementation schedule will be published soon, together with the official tenders for the port’s construction and development.
