Strategic Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Institut Salah Azaïz and Gustave Roussy
Yesterday, a strategic cooperation protocol was signed between the Institut Salah Azaïz and the French Gustave Roussy center, one of the world's leading excellence poles in oncology. This partnership, spanning from 2026 to 2029, aims to strengthen Tunisia's capabilities in diagnosing and treating rare and complex cancers.
The agreement provides for rigorous support of Tunisian medical teams through continuous training, the development of clinical research, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies, particularly in molecular biology. By promoting the exchange of expertise and support for multidisciplinary committees, this alliance aims to significantly improve patient care, from disease detection to therapeutic follow-up.
Tunisia's Minister of Health, Dr. Mustapha Ferjani, stated that this convention represents a major breakthrough, enabling Tunisian citizens to benefit from high-level care without having to travel abroad. The presence of Dr. Fabrice Barlesi, Director General of Gustave Roussy, in Tunis, demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to building a durable and high-performance model of medical cooperation.
This initiative is part of the Ministry of Health's reform program, which focuses on modernizing the national cancer control system through innovation, quality care, and therapeutic equity.
