Throughout his remarkable journey, Ferjani successfully eliminated Iranian Nima Zahadi (15-1) in the round of 32, American Jayden Calihan (15-8) in the round of 16, and Japanese Yuto Rikiteik (15-9) in the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, he dominated French fencer Maxime Bianfetti (15-13) before narrowly winning against South Korean Oh Sanguk (15-14) in the semifinals.
