US Geological Service Announces 7.5 Magnitude Earthquake off Russian Far East Coast
The US Geological Service announced on Saturday, September 13, 2025, that a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Russian Far East. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center indicated that there is a risk of forming "dangerous" waves along the coasts located within a 300-kilometer radius around the earthquake's epicenter. Meanwhile, the German Research Center for Geosciences stated that a 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred near the eastern coast of Russia's Kamchatka region on Saturday. As a reminder, the Kamchatka region was already hit by a powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake last July. This event raised concerns about the safety of Pacific coastal populations, leading to the evacuation of millions of people.
