Earthquake of Magnitude 5.8 Recorded Off the East Coast of Kamchatka Peninsula
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 was recorded on Saturday off the east coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, in the far east of Russia, announced the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). According to the same source, the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers. No tsunami alert or major damage has been reported immediately. The Kamchatka Peninsula, located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, is regularly shaken by seismic tremors due to its high tectonic activity.
