On Friday, February 20, a violent robbery took place on the peripheral road linking Nabeul to Béni Khiar, just a few minutes before the Maghreb (sunset) call to prayer, according to the victim’s mother.
According to the information gathered, the 18‑year‑old man from Hammamet was riding a high‑displacement motorcycle when an individual armed with a sword attacked him in an attempt to seize the vehicle. The assault caused serious injuries to multiple parts of his body.
The victim’s life‑threatening condition required emergency surgery at a private clinic before he was transferred to an intensive‑care unit. He remains under close medical supervision; his condition is described as critical but stable.
